Bartram
proved to be the best bargain base selection from last year's NAB AFL
Draft - he was plucked by the Demons at No.60. This season, Bartram was
pipped only by Geelong 21-year-old Mathew Stokes (No.61) as the lowest
selected draftee from last year's pool to make his AFL debut this
season. It was an outstanding effort from Bartram, who played every
home-and-away match in 2006, as an underrated half-back/run-with
midfielder, producing some fine shut-down roles. Bartram's
hard-running, work-ethic and tackling stood out in his game and he will
be in the mix for this year's award.
