The
son of Ray and younger brother of Rhyce came on in leaps and bounds in
2006 and like another leading contender, Andrew Raines, was one of the
most improved players in the competition. Recalled in round two, Shaw
then spent the remainder of the season in the side. His form in the
early part of the season was exceptional. From rounds four to 10 he won
the ball 178 times at an average of 25.42 per match. According to Champion Data, Shaw was the highest ranked nominee this year. He is a huge chance to win the award.
