Swallow
was somewhat of a bargain selection when he was claimed at No.43 in
last year's NAB AFL Draft. And in his first AFL season, he didn't
disappoint, making 12 appearances, playing the last nine home-and-away
matches. He claimed his nomination after an excellent performance
against Geelong at Manuka Oval, when he won 25 disposals in just his
seventh AFL match. He then followed up the next round with 21 touches
against Port Adelaide. A ball-winning midfielder, Swallow was a
decorated under-age footballer before joining the Roos. He looms as an
important part of the Kangaroos' future.
