Having
made eight appearances in 2004-05, Surjan added another 15 matches to
his tally in 2006, after battling injuries - including knee and ankle
problems - during his first two seasons. From round seven, Surjan
cemented a spot in Port Adelaide's line-up, playing every match, until
a shoulder injury sustained against Collingwood in round 20 ended his
season. His nomination came after an outstanding performance against
Hawthorn, when he gained 26 disposals - a personal best - claimed seven
marks and booted a goal in the Power's crushing 96-point victory. He is
part of the emerging guard at Port Adelaide.
