His first month of the season was particularly impressive when he played key run-with roles on Adelaide's Mark Ricciuto and Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell. Firrito's round two performance against the Hawks, where he claimed 18 disposals was especially eye-catching. He managed 16 matches for the year and missed two blocks of three matches.
