Round 7 - Brendon Goddard
Goddard entered the 2003 season as the No.1 draftee from last year’s
National AFL Draft and the versatile Saint, who played in defence, in
the midfield and up forward – didn’t disappoint, exceeding all
expectations with a fine debut season. Goddard made his AFL debut in
round four against Richmond and received his nomination in round seven,
after shining with 20 disposals against Carlton. He went on to play 18
games for the year and missed just one match from rounds four to 22
when he was sidelined with a thigh injury in round 16.
