Round 18 – Lewis Roberts-Thompson:
At 14, Lewis Roberts-Thomson was an outstanding rugby forward who
appeared destined one day to play second row for the Wallabies. Then he
tried Aussie Rules, and five years on, he’s lining up in the first ruck
for the Sydney Swans. The phrase ‘meteoric rise’ was never more fitting
than when applied to the 195 cm follower with the shock of blond hair.
After debuting in round eight, Roberts-Thompson won his nomination in
round 18 when promoted to first ruck to replace the injured Jason Ball.
