The AFL ‘It’s More Than a Game’
Curriculum Resource

The Australian Game of Football has changed enormously since its
rudimentary beginnings in 1858 when the first recorded games were
played by students and teachers of Melbourne’s public schools,
predominantly Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar.

From these rough and ready games played in open parkland in inner
Melbourne, Australia's only indigenous football code has evolved into a
stunning spectacle watched by millions, and played in all states and territories.

Australian Football's reach in the community is significant with this great game played by more than 630,000 participants nationally; a further 40,000 players participate in 32 countries across the globe.

Many children are enthused by Australian football and the activities on this
CD-ROM provide an opportunity to harness that passion for the game while achieving important educational outcomes.

So put on your club colours, get out the footballs, set up the activities
and have fun with this creative and engaging teaching resource.

I hope you enjoy this CD-ROM and may it lead you to enjoy a lifetime's association with Australia's only indigenous football code.
